The International Center for Research on Women (ICRW), is a global research organization whose mission is to empower women, advance gender equality and fight poverty. ICRW seeks a full time East and Southern Africa Regional Technical Advisor for an anticipated Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) (formerly DFID) -funded program: What Works II/What Works to Prevent Violence: Impact at Scale. This #45.5 million, seven-year program beginning in 2020, is the second phase of the Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls: Research and Innovation Fund. This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
The programme will have four components:
What Works II will prevent and contribute to eliminating violence against women and girls (VAWG) through the above components. The Regional Technical Advisor (RTA) will be responsible for managing and delivering support to a portfolio of ten to twelve grantees across East and Southern Africa. The RTA will:
They will serve as a focal point for other technical experts and advisors in the region and actively coordinate with relevant client contacts in FCDO country offices to monitor national and regional policy dialogues and engagements as part of the programmatic focus on building an effective regional response to VAWG prevention.
